How to Make Turkish Coffee

🧂 Ingredients:


1 cup cold water


1–2 teaspoons of finely ground Turkish coffee (very fine like powder)


Sugar (optional)


(Optional) a pinch of cardamom for flavor

🔥 Instructions:


1. Add ingredients to the pot:

Pour cold water into the pot, then add coffee and sugar (and cardamom if you like).



2. Mix well:

Stir gently until the coffee and sugar dissolve completely.



3. Heat slowly:

Place the pot on low heat. Do not stir after this point.

As it warms up, you’ll see a foam forming on top — that’s the key!



4. Watch closely:

When the foam starts to rise (just before boiling), remove the cezve from heat.

Do not let it boil over — that ruins the foam.



5. Serve the foam:

Spoon a little foam into each cup, then return the cezve to heat briefly to let it foam again.

Pour the rest of the coffee slowly into the cups.



6. Let it settle:

Wait 30–60 seconds before sipping — the coffee grounds will settle at the bottom.

☕ Tips:



Never stir after heating begins — it breaks the foam.


Use fresh, very finely ground Turkish coffee (Arabica beans are best).


Drink slowly; don’t sip the grounds at the bottom.


☕ Shortcut method: Boil water first, remove from heat, add coffee, stir, then return briefly to heat to form foam.


Both make good coffee — but the traditional cold-start gives richer foam and smoother flavor.
