Alessandro Mendini
Born in Milan in 1931, Alessandro Mendini was one of the main innovators of Italian design of the 1980s. Architect, artist, designer, design manager, theorist, of international fame, he has directed important design culture magazines, spreading his requests for renewal. The long association with Alessi has been culturally multifaceted: official historiographer, designer of iconic objects such as the Anna G. corkscrew, architect of the Alessi Museum, of expansions of the Omegna headquarters and of temporary exhibitions, creator and coordinator of project operations that have contributed to transforming the company into one of the Factories of Italian Design.
